This is a flat 2 lap clockwise course. The course starts on the old rugby field opposite the Trim Park. About 170 meters after the start the course turns left parallel with Govan Mbeki Avenue for 400 meters up to the river after which it turns right following the riverbank for 500 meters. It then turns left crossing the foot bridge over the river. After crossing the bridge it turns right and keeping right following the path for 350 meters looping back towards the footbridge all along the riverbank. It then goes left back over the foot bridge and again left after crossing the bridge keeping left along the river bank back towards the starting point to complete the first lap. The second lap is exactly the same as the first one.
