The whole course is off road on grass pasture and has outstanding views of the Castle and surrounding countryside. It follows a field fence and returns alongside the River Aln. Being entirely on grass the course can be run in either trail shoes or road shoes although after inclement weather trail shoes would be preferable. Due to the terrain, the course is only suitable for off-road buggies/wheelchairs.
