The course starts beside the Goods Shed Art Centre on tarmac but then is a mix of grass and path with an incline and a downhill. The route is two clockwise laps of Preston Park using the now dismantled Tetbury branch line route. The first loop crosses a stone bridge and up a short but steep hill before taking you through Berkley Wood. Run along the top followed by a steep downhill before crossing the stone bridge over the Wor Well. Re-join the railway line before ascending the hill for the second time; omitting the wood and the out and back section but re-joining the branch line after the back to the finish.
