This a a two-lap course, starting close to the Donkey Pond in the south-east corner of Dartford Heath (between Heath Lane and Old Bexley Lane). The route travels west towards Oakfield Lane, before turning north for a returning loop up and down an avenue of tall birch trees and a small section of woodland. The route continues around the perimeter of the Heath in a clockwise direction, before the circuit is repeated, and finishes at the Donkey Pond. The course is a mixture of firm paths, grass, and woodland.
